Fender Cover Material

The boat blanket fabric used in these kits is made from solution dyed polyester and is tough enough to use as a fender cover but soft enough that it will not harm the sides of a boat.

It is uv and chemical resistant colorfast and can easily withstand a marine environment while staying soft enough to not harm the side of your boat. Allows crew to lean on safety wires comfortably. Fender covers or fender socks look fantastic and reduce noise dramatically but make sure that you rinse them thoroughly with fresh water any saltwater will evaporate leaving behind just salt particles which can dull the shine on your lovely gelcoat. The fabric of boat fender cover is specially knitted not to absorb water so boat fender cover never sags and molds. The grommet is at the top of the fender and the drawstring is at the bottom. If you tie a knot in the line above the fender please make sure it is above the cover so it does not pull against the grommet. Usually if you use a towe as a fender coverl and start the car the fan blows it off. Boat blanket is intended for use against gel coat and other hard coated surfaces. To cover our fender we selected boat blanket fabric in a soft gray color.

Quick drying polyester fabric. The fabric is sun sensitive and will fade. There are fender covers on the market with magnets embedded in them but they can end up holding metal and then you lay the metal on your paint yikes. This does not affect the durability of the polartec.
